Love Your Rug - How do I choose?

When choosing a Persian carpet or modern rug the most important factor is that you love it and you can’t force yourself to like one, it needs to speak to you. If the design matches the quality then it will look better. If it is intricate then the quality needs to be dense and if it is simplistic it can be less fine.

Before you start browsing, it helps if you know where the rug will go and the approximate size. Will it sit under the sofa or dining table, or in front of furniture? All hand made rugs are different and even when they are custom made they will turn out different in colour and appearance after weaving, washing and shaving, due to variations of dyes, temperatures and more.

The best case senario is you select your favourite carpet and build around it with relevant or contrasting colours.
